The Kiwi

Habitat: Dense, subtropical, temperate forests and scrubland.
Diet: Omnivorous: insects, worms, spiders, snails, crayfish, fallen berries.
Classification and relatives: Flightless birds in a family of their own, the kiwi's closest relatives include the emu, the cassowary, the ostrich and the elephant bird.
Endangered status: Endangered
Lifespan: 40 years
